Given the present sociopolitical context—marked by increasing extremist expressions and assertions of religious supremacy—there is an urgent need to revive and amplify the ethical teachings of various religious traditions that emphasize coexistence and empathy.
Religion can be a source to guide human conscience towards compassion, forgiveness, truth, and nonviolence, acting as a bridge between different communities.
The Inter-Religious Solidarity Council (IRSC) is a platform dedicated to fostering dialogue, understanding, and cooperation among diverse faith communities. Rooted in the principles of secularism, pluralism, and shared humanity, IRSC brings together religious leaders, scholars, and civil society actors to address contemporary social challenges through an interfaith lens.
Since its inception, IRSC has convened a wide range of initiatives—including interfaith dialogues, public forums, and cultural engagements—that encourage mutual respect and collective responsibility. Its work has included landmark gatherings such as the Mumbai Parliament of Religions , inspired by the enduring legacy of Swami Vivekananda, alongside ongoing collaborations that build bridges across communities.
